Seasonal thanks, and best wishes

I have made no secret of the fact that I am not really a Christmas person. I have always felt it was something that you were supposed to grow out of.
And that’s what I did.

However, I am well aware how many people out there love this season. Some for nostalgic reasons, a few for the religious origins, and many others just as a cause for celebration. With that in mind, I send you all this seasonal greeting.

A very Happy Christmas to everyone who follows and reads this blog, and those that I follow myself. I hope that you and your families have a great time, and that 2017 is a wonderful year for you.

I would like to thank everyone who has stuck with me on this blog over the last four and a bit years. Thanks for your comments, your inspiration, your ‘Likes’, and the interaction too. I would also like to say the same to the many new followers who have come along for the ride during 2016. I hope to see you all again during 2017, and to carry on being a part of the wonderful community we have here.

My very best wishes to you all. Pete.

  1. I was just reading some of your comments, Pete.. And, being a wonderful Grandpa is the best thing on this earth… My little 2 ft. Christmas Tree is all stored away in it’s box for yet another year, and I ready myself to bring in 2017, fast asleep on my pillow.. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve watch the New Year’s eve ball drop on the telly.. No more telly for me anyway.. I canceled that.. Just Netflix for me now and I can catch up on my local news via the internet.. Less bills for me in the New Year sounds like a wonderful year ahead for me.. Take care, and just love Judy….

    1. We never managed to even get our own tree and decorations up this year, believe it or not. Too busy rushing around with visiting and family.
No more TV sounds like a plan. I hope that the absence of that distraction works well for you.
Have a wonderful 2017 in the ‘Frozen North’.
Happy New Year to you and your family, from your friend in England.
      Best wishes, Pete. X

  2. Christmas is mainly a let down and occasionally depressing. I enjoy the build-up and THE TIME OFF WORK!!! But the actual day is a bit poor 🙂 Season’s Greetings Pete! xxx

  3. I find my feelings about Christmas are a bit mixed. I love the excuse to gather with friends and family and I love the food and decorations… but I find some of the consumerist wastefulness really bothersome and I feel a bit hypocritical considering that I am an atheist.

  4. Hello, my friend! It’s very odd when you don’t post or pop around the blogosphere. I was wondering if you are okay? When I am uninspired, I start reading books. A different medium–gosh, I remember reading all the time as a kid. I’m lucky if I squeeze in a book a month. I know this time of year has you down-in-the-dumps. A change of environment pulls me out of my melancholia. Giving myself photo “jobs” helps me, as well. Please know you are valued and appreciated!

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Cindy. I am just back from a couple of days staying at my stepdaughter’s, and the sun has been shining too, despite the cold.
Although I am still short of ideas about posts at the moment, I am in a better frame of mind.
      Best wishes as always, Pete.

  5. Christmas seems so inevitable. As the Moon once said to the Sea, “Yule tide whether you like it or not!” Have a great holiday weekend. Of course, I could wave the right to continue following your blog, but I intend to stay on the raft, even if I get sea [sic]. Sea you in 2017!
