Modern Romance

I rarely re-blog posts, but I could not resist this absolute gem.

Snapchat: how it works

She knew he didn’t love her
’cause his top three Snapchat rates
were all of other girls
and that web cam whore Kate.

And she wanted to hang out
but he said it was too late
then he posted on his Facebook page
all about his evening date

And after all the sexting and innumerable deletes
after all the texting and after all the tweets
after she had lain with him
their Facebook pic together
that evening she unfriended him
murmuring to herself

  1. Thanks for reposting. I never quite put it together before. Social media serves as the modern equivalent of β€˜slam books’ back in 9th grade (circa 1960). Indeed, I had not thought of them until this repost. I guess that’s why I never put it together. Indeed, I learned who my first girlfriend was going to be through a slam book. I wonder what ever became of Donna? πŸ™‚
    Warmest regards, Theo

    1. Thanks, Theo. Frank has shown some real insight here. But then he always does. I have an e-book of his poems, and they are a delight. You might also enjoy his political thoughts. In fact, I am sure you would.
      Best wishes, Pete.
